Hello Everyone!
A big thanks to Cassie for pointing out just how long it’s been since I updated everyone on where all of my various projects are currently at in the production process.
The Destroyer (A Broken World Book 2) has just gone out to my Launch Team this week, which means it’s ~4 weeks from going live. I’ll try to remember to do an excerpt or two before then.
Book 1 from the new YA PNR series has been through RJ’s edits, but in the course of that she made a couple of recommendations that resulted in me adding something like 10k words. The new scenes are with Katie now to see if she thinks that they work. If so the new scenes will go back to RJ and then the whole thing will go off to Amy. I’m hoping to get this book out sometime in October or November, but given the way things have been going lately there is a chance it will get pushed back later than that.
I just finished my overall story/editing pass on Jess and Wyatt’s book. I need to run through my list of common errors I make, do a quick scenery editing pass, and then it will go off to my new proof reader so that we can hopefully wack out the bulk of the stupid errors that get introduced when I dictate stuff, after which it will go off to Katie.
This one (and Book 1 from the new series) both have some pretty intense reveals in them, so I’m especially excited about them. I’ve been thinking I would release Jess and Wyatt’s book sometime in December, but given the way things have been going it will probably be January. I’ll do all I can though to pull it forward if possible.
In my last email to my mailing list I promised everyone a giveaway. I’m still planning on doing that, we just need to finish up a little bit of graphic’s work on the web page where the giveaway will be hosted. Katie has the page mostly done, I just need to confirm what I want the text on the page to say and then we should be able to get the giveaway up and running–hopefully before the release of The Destroyer.
I’ve got a bunch of big non-writing (marketing & webdesign) projects that are nearing completion but for a last few items. Once I finish up the current round of editing work, I should be able to get Katie what she needs (many of them have heavy graphics components that are the holdup), and then I’ll watch the girls so that she can knock some of them out. Hopefully as they won’t take too much longer–I’m getting really anxious to get back to writing.
Thank you all for your support so far this year!
All the best,
Dean
Thank you for all your hard work! Can’t wait for Jess and Wyatt. Reflections is my favorite. Will there ever be an Alec and Adri wedding since the last one was ruined? And wow is Rachel being creepy and cryptic. She was so sweet in the beginning.
Hi, Jen.
You’re welcome–thank you for coming along for the ride!
I wish I could comment on that aspect of the timeline, but I don’t want to ruin anything.
Rachel is being pretty cryptic–I’m excited to eventually write a book from her point of view so everyone can see what was going on for her during this time. 🙂
